Michelle Legaspi has always been passionate about people and storytelling. Even in elementary school, she received creative writing awards.
Michelle’s communications journey began in reporting for local news, first in Columbia and then Greenville, for three and a half years. She began as a multimedia journalist immediately after graduating from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. When Michelle wasn’t on the scene for breaking news or on the coast during hurricane season, she sought after the creative feature stories that pull at the heartstrings and resonate with viewers.
During her time in news, Michelle learned the importance of developing and maintaining positive relationships with community members and local leaders to be able to pitch and execute relevant, impactful and timely stories.
A proud Upstate native, Michelle was born and raised in Anderson. After spending six years in Columbia for college and to kickstart her career, the beautiful and rapidly-growing Greenville drew Michelle back home.
Many describe Michelle as adventurous, personable, cheerful and always up for a challenge. She often carries those qualities into her favorite pastimes of hiking and trying new recipes in the kitchen. She is married to her husband, Nereo, who is a physical therapist assistant.
In everything she does, Michelle operates with the philosophy of “Your life will only become better by helping make other lives better,” a lesson learned from her favorite leadership expert, John Maxwell.
