Amy Merriman knows how to connect the dots. Listening, observing, and asking thoughtful questions – all to really get to know people, their passions and their needs – earning her a place as a trusted partner and resource to clients, family, and friends – and the nickname “The Help Desk.”
Amy Merriman built her career in sales, business development, event planning, fundraising, and community outreach. Prior to joining NP Strategy, Amy was an event strategist with Lenovo’s NA Marketing team – working directly with commercial sales to ensure event selection, messaging, and execution exceeded Lenovo’s business goals and most importantly – the customer’s goals. Amy also spent seven years as an independent event planner for NC State University, the City of Raleigh, the NC History Museum and various other non-profits. During this time, Amy again managed event strategy, scope, goals, budgets, and of course, execution! Before her event planning career, Amy spent 15 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, marketing first-in-class products for the treatment of Type I and Type II Diabetes.
A Virginia native, Amy received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Construction Management from East Carolina University. Amy lives in Raleigh with her husband John, three teenaged children, and a house full of pets. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs, volunteering at her kids’ school, and cruising around in her restored 1978 IH Scout ii.
